Kamloops Real Estate
Like the rest of beautiful British Columbia, real estate in Kamloops is a hot market. Homes can be bought for under $250,000 including property, however mostly in less desirable areas such as North Shore, Brock, and some outlying areas.
Areas which are considered higher end, such as Aberdeen and Sahali have single family homes starting around the $300,000 mark. Kamloops also offers less expensive alternatives, such as mobile home parks, condominium developments and townhouses.
Although Kamloops is known for its country side, it has many traits of a big city. Kamloops is Canada’s “Tournament Capital” and is well developed with major freeways, highways, national railways and airports. Some of the major employers in Kamloops include: Weyerhauser (now Domtar) Pulp Mill, Tolko Lumber Mill, LaFarge Cement, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Pollard Banknote (which produces the lottery tickets), and NRI distribution to name a few.
In addition, Kamloops is also offers recreational focal points such as Sun Peaks Resort, Lac Le Jeune, Harper Mountain Ski Hill, Kamloops Lake, Shuswap Lake and the North and South Thompson Rivers. There are many activities in both the summer and winter.
Kamloops has a lot to offer the real estate industry, and is ideal for home buyers on a tight budget. Entertainment can easily be found in any season, and it is a perfect place for a new home owner to start a new family.
